The Mallorca Hotel Business Federation (FEHM) is promoting a new model of joint collaboration with various consulates present on the island. Its aim is to improve support and assistance for both international tourists and foreign workers.
A recent meeting brought together 29 consular delegations, along with the 23 hotel associations integrated within the FEHM, including the Palma de Mallorca Hotel Association, as well as the Official College of Psychologists of the Balearic Islands.
The initiative seeks to improve the management and support of people at the destination, both tourists and international workers, within a highly international environment in which a total of 41 consulates operate.
During the meeting, FEHM president Javier Vich highlighted that the gathering marks a turning point by achieving, from now on, “a structural coordination”.
This coordination model aims to respond to a reality that is becoming increasingly present in Mallorca: the high internationalisation of tourism and of the hotel sector’s own workforce, which requires more agile and structured collaboration mechanisms.
Currently, the sector channels nearly 70% of all visitors (13 million people) and acts as an operational hub in the management of incidents.
